Obituary

Nellie died peacefully at Boulder Manor on January 26, 2001, at the age of 98. Her obituary appeared in the Boulder Daily Camera on January 30. A memorial service was held February 10 at the First United Methodist Church in Boulder.

Nellie V. Teets

June 13, 1902 - January 26, 2001

Nellie V. Teets of Boulder died Friday, January 26, 2001, at Boulder Manor Nursing Home. She was 98.

Born on June 13, 1902, in Butler County, Kansas, she was the daughter of William Young and Mary Parry Young. She married Earl W. Teets on October 18, 1917, in Douglass, Kansas. He died April 20, 1935.

Mrs. Teets moved to Boulder from Butler County, Kansas, in 1940.

She worked in housekeeping at the University of Colorado, retiring in 1966 after 20 years.

Mrs. Teets volunteered at Mesa Vista Nursing Home, now Terrace Heights, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed weaving, crocheting, beadwork and embroidery.

Survivors include a son, Otis Teets of Boulder; a daughter, Earlene "Neural" Reagan of Pittsburg, Kansas; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Teets and David Teets.

Services will be held at a later date.

Contributions may be made in her name to the First United Methodist Church, in care of Howe Mortuary, 2121 11th St., Boulder, CO 80302.
