An elk in the sagebrush.
Elk are unusual in Jackson Hole at this time of year because they
normally migrate up the mountains during the summer. We also saw (but
didn't get photos of) moose, bison, mule deer, bald eagles, ospreys,
red tailed hawks, and a Arctic loon (which Jane claims was actually
a merganser).
